First year at uni done

In the beginning of my second semester of uni I had a class with my friend Jenna, and the tutor for that class loved having music in the background.
This one day she played Coldplay – Sky full of stars, and I told Jenna about my trip i did last year in Croatia, France and Italy. Cause that song reminds me of that time when I borrowed a bike and went down the hills in Siena in this veery warm weather, it was out in no where. If I wouldn’t have done that trip by myself I would probably not be here in Australia right now.

Before that trip I was scared as hell. Go away, alone, in Europe, as a girl? I would get killed, I would get mugged. I had the worst thoughts you can possibly think of.
When I left for Australia I was scared, however, not as scared.

If you ever feel like moving to another country, do it. It is so worth it.
Today I finished my first year of uni here at The Sunshine coast. And I couldn’t be more proud of myself.
I got burned. I saw two snakes. I went snorkeling. I got to know myself by a new name. I was scared. I challenged myself. I failed. I succeeded in Pernilla-style. I surfed. I cried, a lot. But I also loved a lot. I did not, however, get bit by a shark.

This year I have met some really amazing people that can handle me on my worst days and also laugh with me on my best.

And in about one month I’m going to Sweden to visit, which feels very odd. I said goodbye to mum almost ten months ago, yet it feels like two weeks.

I’m walking on sunshine, literally

At 8am I got home from a morning walk along the beach. And I love the active lifestyle here! At 7.30 there are so much people out walking, running and swimming. Everyone is so happy and they greet you as you walk by them, either with a smile or a ”Good morning!”. I absolutely love it! It’s hard not be active here on the coast.

My weird friend Jenna made a sandwich with bananas and strawberries on, so freaking amazing! So I made me one straight away when I got home. These weird Aussies hey!

It’s only one week to go (ONE WEEK!!!) and I’m really trying not to stress my ass off!
Have an anatomy exam on Wednesday and one report due on Sunday. Library, here I come!

Some music to pump up your Sunday mood!

Sweden compared to Australia – Food culture

Yesterday I had a class in Food in society and we were talking about different culture foods.
I told my class about how we look at candy back home in Sweden.
In my family while growing up, and in many others, we had this thing called Saturday candy. Which meant I was only aloud to eat candy on Saturdays. And now when I’m grown up I always say; ”I’m gonna be healthy now and only eat candy on Saturdays.” Cause that kind of stuck with me through all my life.
My class laughed as they thought it sounded weird, which it probably is I just haven’t thought of it like that before I got here. Why Saturdays? Where did that come from?

Midsummer – We eat herring, get super drunk and dance around a midsummer pole. It’s awesome, but when my tutor asked the reason to why we did this, I didn’t know what to answer to that?
And the thing about Easter. Tried to explain to the class how we dress up like witches with freckles and knock on strangers doors and give letters of paintings, that we our self’s made, to them. That’s just weird! Haha.
Here do you have an explanation to what Easter is in Sweden;

Public speaking

”All I do is win, win, win, no matter what…”

Today has been a really good day. I’ve got that ”Goose bump-feeling”, if you know what I mean.
The day started off with a morning run, then work, then the gym and after that a class in Public health foundations. And we had to do public speaking… Which I hate. I know, all of you are thinking; ”But you love to talk! You don’t ever shut up! ”
But I really hate to speak in front of a crowd. Especially when it’s in english cause I get nervous and lose my words! But today  when the tutor asked; ”Who want to go first?” I just thought ”Screw it! Let’s do this!!”.
To conquer your fears you must meet them! So me and my partner was first up. Not my best presentation, but pretty good. And I did it, so damn proud!!
Looking forward to a whole day at uni tomorrow!

On Saturday my bosses are gonna take me and my co-worker on a trip to double island, where we gonna camp! Worlds best work-party? Well, it remains to be seen. I’m so excited!!

For those of you who don’t have the goose bump-feeling today, here’s a song to dance to;

”And every time I step up in the buildin’
Everybody hands go up
‘Cause all I do is win win win”

The second semester at The University of the Sunshine Coast

After a five weeks break Uni finally started again! I know it sounds weird and I should be happy to have a break but I really love studying! And after I did so good in all my subjects last semester I’m even more excited to start studying again!
This semester I’m doing Anatomy, Physiology, Public health foundation and Food in society. I started the day with one lecture of anatomy and one lecture and workshop in physiology, and it was so much fun and interesting!
I get to meet a lot of my people again and also get to meet new ones.

And I’m also looking forward to cuddling up to these two in every physiologic lecture this semester!
